Edison Cavani is a dream, why’re we assuming it’s a done deal?

French outlet Gazetta dello Sport reported this week that PSG and Urugian national Edison Cavani has agreed to join Inter Miami CF once they begin their MLS journey next year. This had been rumbled about for some time, but lately, it’s been reported as if the deal is actually done.
Cavani is set to be 33 once he would take the pitch for Inter. At PSG he’s been one of the most effective and ruthless forwards in the world. Despite varied European success, he’s one of the most consistent goal scorers in the world.
If you take a look at Cavani’s stats, they dropped off last year. The main reason can be attributed to sharing the goals with Neymar, Mbappe, and Angel Di Maria.
On paper, this is a great deal and start for Inter. Snagging a European star in the later stages of their prime, instead of after their prime, is a big deal. Which is why Inter Miami fans should be cautioned that until this is a done deal, it’s simply speculation and sill season material.
