Rumor: Marcelo Gallardo to Inter Miami?

Could Marcelo Gallardo be the first manager in Inter Miami history?

Just days after Miami Herald reporter Michelle Kaufman announced that Inter Miami could reveal their head coach later this month, a report from TNT Sports journalist Fernando Czyz has linked current River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo to be the man to take Inter Miami forward in their inaugural season.

According to the article, Inter Miami GM Paul McDonough flew down to Argentina about two months ago to discuss the possibility of Gallardo becoming the first manager in club history.
This would come as no shock to most Inter Miami fans. It has been said that Jorge Mas wanted a manager that would leave his footprint on the club even when they move on. Gallardo with his high press style, free-flowing attacking football would fit the profile of the current group of players the club has signed.

With Barcelona also looking interested in the 43-year-old, it would be a huge statement on intent from Inter Miami if the club managed to sign him on.
